See the magnificent natural sight of Seven Falls in South Cheyenne Canyon near the Embassy Suites Colorado Springs hotel while in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Seven Falls is an awe-inspiring sight of cascading waterfalls down steep granite cliffs. Back in 1882, James Hull purchased the property for $1,300 to protect the beautiful area from being cut down for lumber. Hull recognized the attraction of Cheyenne Canyon and the Seven Falls so he built a road through the canyon to the Falls and a stairway on the side of the Falls. People began to visit the property to view the Seven Falls, and it was then that the Seven Falls became a major Colorado tourist attraction.
The canyon is one mile in length, the narrowest part is only 41 feet, and the tallest wall to the top of a cliff is 980 feet. The cascading waterfall is 181 feet tall, spilling down seven distinct steps of pikes peak granite. Hikers can opt to travel to the top of the Falls by the internal elevator inside of the mountain, or climb the 224 steps up the stairway alongside the Falls. The Eagle’s Nest Observation platform is the best place to take in the spectacular view of the Seven Falls. At the top of
Seven Falls there are two hiking trails that lead to

other sights and vantage points. One trail leads hikers on a one mile trek to Inspiration Point with a panoramic view of the Great Plains and Colorado Springs. The second is a half-mile trail to Midnight Falls. A smaller waterfall created by springs and melted snow on Pikes Peak.
Complete your trip to
Seven Falls by dining at Ponderosa Café and browsing the park’s gift shops. Ponderosa Café is open for lunch and dinner and offers a memorable outdoor dining experience amongst the granite cliffs and rushing sound of the waterfalls. Be sure to pick up a souvenir to remember the hike and sightseeing of the Seven Falls at one of the three gift shops. At the Main Curio store shop for western memorabilia, historic photographs and video, toys and other crafty souvenirs. Bear Cub’s Cave is the children’s toys, games and apparel shop for kids of all ages. The Eagles’ Nest shop at the top of the mountain elevator features natural crystals, agates, wind chimes and stones.
