McKelligon Canyon Park & Amphitheatre is located in the El Paso Franklin Mountains and is open to hikers and picknickers. A special feature about this 90-acre park is the 1,500 seat amphitheatre surrounded on three sides by dramtic canyon walls. A variety of concerts a Shakespeare Festival and VIVA El Paso outdoor musical drama are presnted each summer.
The Viva El Paso! show is a recreation of El Paso history. It's an exciting outdoor extravaganza that relays the 400-year history of Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Western American people using traditional dances, original music, costumes and special effects. It is performed at the McKelligon Canyon in Northeast El Paso from early June through Labor Day Weekend.
