Chief Maintenance Engineer

Windsor Capital Group, Inc. is a successful management company looking to secure a motivated individual to oversee the facilities management of the brand new Embassy Suites Hotel – Denver Downtown Convention Center. The hotel is scheduled to open in December 2010. The Embassy Suites is a “LEEDS” certified, 403 suite hotel with approximately 20,000 square of event space. Financially the hotel is projected to perform with revenues exceeding $20m. The all-suite hotel will include a restaurant and lounge as well as leased retail space and a leased restaurant. The ideal Chief Maintenance Engineer will be “hands on” and have the knowledge, skill set and ability to open a new building as well as manage a team to successfully maintain and operate the building systems while providing excellent customer service to our hotel guests. RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Supervises, develops, and maintains an ongoing maintenance operation for hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/C units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
*Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time.
*Works closely with Housekeeping and Front Office Manager to ensure coordination of activities.
*Aids and instructs craftsmen in scheduling work, ordering material and completing assignments by a specified date.
*Meets with architects to discuss blueprints, contacts contractors to submit bids for new construction, and meets with construction supervisors to discuss different phases of work.
*Performs work with in the departmental expense guidelines.
*Studies work schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
*Interprets specifications, job orders, and company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
*Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, recommends measures to improve production.
*Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
*Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers.
*Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
*Maintains efficiency and production records.
*May estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
*May confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
*May set up machines and equipment.
*Conduct training sessions to hotel staff to meet safety requirements, educate hotel staff regarding proper techniques required to receive and maintain LEEDS certification.


SKILLS:
*The ability to understand the technologies required in directed work.
*The ability to plan and direct the work of others, either directly or through lower-level supervisors.
*Ability to work with in a variety of situations.
*Ability to solve problems using facts and personal judgement.
*Ability to react quickly in emergency situations and make decisions that may involve a great amount of money or the safety of others.
*Ability to work with people

REQUIREMENTS:
Computer Experience Preferred:
* Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* OnQ.
* Internet savvy.

Miscellaneous Requirements:
* Previous experience opening a hotel is preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of previous hotel experience is preferred.
* Multi-Task Oriented
* Excellent Project and Time Management skills
* Periodic travel may be required.
* Attend off site meetings/events as necessary.
* Will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as appropriate to business level.
* Ability to work in fast paced environment and adhere to established deadlines.
* Relocation will not be paid.
* Only qualified candidates with appropriate hotel experience will be considered.
Position Start Date is August 2010.
